ARA is a dynamic space for communication and creation. It is a
collective community of eclectic forms of expression. We offer
residency and commission artistic projects for young Syrian artists.
About us:
We are non profit non partisan organization that aims to build
cross-border dialogue and creates an on-going interactive platform
between Syrian artists and the world.
We provide space and opportunity for emerging talents to express and
create freely. Every two to four weeks two new Syrian young Artists
has the opportunity unconditionally to live and work at ARA with all
materials and living requirements provided . In this intimate
creative environment , artists are able to connect with each other
and with local and regional networks , the result is a unique Forum
for Syrian artworks to reach a wider audience and to develop in an
atmosphere of freedom of expression.
At the end of their stay each artist leaves behind one of artworks
created at ARA during his or her stay which we hope will grow into a
unique collection of Syrian Art from this pivotal moment in its
History .
A special book with all works of Artists and their profiles will be
published .
This will not only turn ARA into an artistic destination in its own
right , collaboration with other cultural artistic partners promise
to result in exhibitions of Syrian Contemporary Art within Lebanon
and across the world .
